Anguish - First Level Demo for AmigaGameJam 2024
Anguish is the spiritual sequel to Agony for AGA Amigas.
Guide Myletes, a Gyrfalcon through his enemies in this side scrolling shooter featuring 3 layers of parallax and copper infused backdrops.
Minimum requirements: stock Amiga 1200 or Amiga 4000
Recommended for best gameplay: 1 MB or more of Fast RAM

Nice game with smooth scrolling, even if it's nowhere near as graphically impressive as the original "Agony." There's certainly still plenty of room for improvement, including the difficulty level. But we'll happily follow the project until the final version. Our German-language preview can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 01:37:31. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂

I found this quite a difficult game, maybe I'm too old now. That screech when the owl dies is a bit too screechy.. 🦉🦉😂
Thanks, but it's actually a falcon not an owl :) It is on the difficult side for now but I wanted the demo to be a challenge to hold people over until the final game which might take quite awhile to finish. We plan to tone down the difficulty for the final full release.
